For Misal Masala
To make misal masala, we will first roast a little dry coconut in a pan. After that add black pepper, cloves, fenugreek seeds, mace, cinnamon, star anise and roast for 2-3 minutes.
After that, add dry red chillies, fennel seeds, cumin seeds and sesame seeds and roast again for 2-3 minutes. And keep it in a plate to cool.
Once all the roasted spices cool down, fine crush them in a mixer.

For Misal Boiling
In a cooker, add 2 cups of water to soaked mooth beans, mung beans and peas, add salt and turmeric and cook for 2 whistles.

For the Misal
Now add oil to a pan, when it gets hot, add mustard seed, cumin and asafoetida. Also add turmeric, ginger and chopped tomato. Let the tomato cook a little. Then add Kashmiri red chillies, Misal Masala and salt. Mix it well. and cook for 3-4 minutes.
After that add hot water and let it boil for 5 minutes. And lastly garnish with chopped coriander.

Our tasty Misal is ready. Serve hot with chiwala, chopped tomato and laddi pav.
